FAST Hub Campus FAST (Foreign Domestic Worker Association for Social Support and Training) commissioned a feasibility and design study for converting an old 1960s school into a new hub focused on servicing domestic workers. The hub comprises not only dormitories, but also spaces for recreation, training, and areas where these foreign domestic workers can get to showcase their culture. Foreign domestic workers are essential to Singapore’s development but are often marginalized with access to services and public spaces. Recognizing that the non-profit’s work can be politically sensitive, we designed the project to actively engage the neighbourhood – through shared amenities such as sports facilities, urban farming, training kitchens, and event spaces where the foreign domestic workers and locals can mingle and be brought into dialogue with each other.
