Sanbao Street Revitalization Masterplan This project looks to revitalizing an old abandoned nautical equipment factory in Changzhou city. The city of Changzhou has in recent years attempted to rekindle interest in its industrial history, particularly with the city’s relationship to the historical Grand Canal, an important artery connecting the capital to the hinterlands and trade routes. The Changzhou Sanbao Street Revitalization project attempts to insert a new fashion vocational training institute into the old factory buildings, while connecting to residential compounds that have sprung up due to the production facilities by means of bridges and shortcuts. New programmes such as public plazas, training centers, classrooms, runways and exhibition halls are interwoven into the original fabric of banal republican- and communist-era spaces.
